Making of Villa Savoye

May 8, 2017

When creating Villa Savoye, our artist, Raymond Jovellanos connected with the project almost instantly. The words he used to describe his visuals were "Poetry in Solitude". It is easy to see why -- the video captures a certain impression of peacefulness in the solitary without it being overtly depressing or dark.

Raymond used the Vray renderer over other renderers such as Corona. Reasons for this may be a little contentious but he prefers Vray because it is for the more mature renderer. It has saved his butt during production more times than he can count because other renderers seem to choke on more complicated renders. While Vray takes a little longer to set up, its many settings, gauges and knobs are not an obstacle to a seasoned artist but rather a helpful friend and tool.
