Developed at the Singapore National Eye Centre, the Endoglide system is a surgical tool to help eye surgeons in cornea replacement surgerys.   Filming such a process in an actual surgery is both difficult operationally, as well as slightly unnerving to viewers.  Therefore 3D animation was employed to show the process.   3D also allowed for things that cannot be filmed such as cross sections of the eye.
